Jan. 7 - Jan. 17, 2012

Scott plays with his snowsuit while I put my boots on!

"Let's see...I put my foot where?"

"Really...I could have done it myself!"

Different day, different walk. Scott in jacket and hat instead of snowsuit, since it was balmy like spring.

From a certain place in the living room we can see Scott standing at the end of his crib up in the bedroom!

What can a say? I guess amusement is wherever one finds it! lol

Scott helps Grandpa with the dishes. He wisks the rinse water to keep it aerated!

He also plays "inspector" to make sure Grandpa is doing it right!

After our walk on the 7th (see pictures from Steven's camera on another post) Scott was asleep in the backpack, so we made him a bottle and eased him onto the swing in the living room. We banked him with a couple of pillows.

While Steven was outside, Scott tries on Steven's slippers.

Scott and his beautiful Mom! His Dad is sitting to the bottom left of picture.

In addition to Emily and Stephen, Tristan and Krystina were here that day too. (Jan. 8th)

Scott tries on Uncle Tristan's hat!

"Do I look just like Uncle Tristan?" asks Scott. "Hmmm....maybe I can take his truck for a spin...."

The whole motley crew: Steven holding Scott, Stephen, (on lawn swing)Barbara and Emily, Victor standing, Tristan and Krystina on footstool.

It was fairly warm the next day, so we sat on the lawn swing on the porch, in the sunshine.

Scott plays with the toy ball his parents brought up. It has flashing lights and music!

Scott snuggles in his yellow blanket on Grandpa's lap. We were watching a Disney sing-a-long video. He likes the songs with animated characters like the Snow White Dwarves.

Scott likes to carry around the baby spoon his Mama and Daddy brought him the other day. He was pretending to feed himself imaginary food out of the red bucket next to him.

Grandpa and Scott have intelligent conversations with this stuffed monkey.

First time playing with Lego blocks. He has the "take it apart" process down good!

Scott practices eating dry cheerios with a spoon. It's harder than you think! The cheerios slide around on the spoon!

Scott gets his own biscuits and rolls nowdays. This one was actually Grandpa's but Scott insisted on having a bite. I make half-size biscuits, rolls, and cookies for him. Grandpa makes half-size pancakes for Scott.

Scott gets up close and personal with the camera! He was wanting to look at the pictures of himself in the camera!

We put this section of wrought iron railing around the woodstove. Now that Scott is walking half the time, we needed to protect him from the hot woodstove. He walks with big bowlegged steps, lurching across the floor! One of the rail pieces was missing, so I wove baling twine in the space. Baling twine should be up there with duct tape and WD40 as essentials!

On Monday the 16th we went sledding on Buffalo hill. We took turns holding Scott. He loves sledding and goes "Whee, whee, wheeeeeeee" all the way down the hill. He kept saying "Wheeeee" when I pulled him back up the hill!

"Hey Grandma! Look at me! I'm as tall as Grandpa!
We found a better backpack at the thrift store. This one is wider and more comfortable for Scott. He loves to be up where he can see what we're doing. In this picture Steven is rubbing dried corn kernals off of cobs, for chicken food.

"Wow! Work is very fascinating... when someone else is doing it!"

Yes, people, the corn that has been hanging, on the cobs, over the beam in the kitchen is now shelled and mixed with oats and barley for chicken food! After... how many years of hanging there?

" Yum! Grandpa makes the BEST sourdough pancakes in the world!"

"Yup, finger-licking good! Plus I saved on washing dishes, since my spoon is still clean!"
