Scott rode in the backpack on Grandpa's back while we hiked to Finger Lake. It was about a mile and a half to the lake, and it was up-down-up-down all the way!
Scott looks back at Grandma while Grandpa looks out over the lake. The lake is long and thin, like a finger. It's one of the most beautiful in Montana. The water is clear, and we saw some good-sized fish while looking down from the cliffs.
We let Scott get down and run around while we ate lunch. He's playing with Grandpa's compass in this picture.
Just a view of Steven and Scott on the trail.
Scott took a nap in the backpack for a short while.
In just a short while he was awake and looking around with interest. It's unusual to see such a small child so aware of his surroundings, and excited about little things like flowers, fish, and birds.
Afternoon naptime again...for the grandparents, not the toddler! lol Scott dumped his books on Grandpa's legs and a moment later he sat on that black battery box to the right, and read books for a while. I'd laid my camera down by then and picked up my own book to read.
